How to read your personal loan results
Monthly payment is the fixed amount you owe each month. It never changes on a fixed-rate loan, but what it's made of does: it starts interest-heavy and becomes principal-heavy.
Total interest is the real price of the loan. Two offers with the same payment can differ by thousands here, which is why this number deserves more attention than the payment does.
Payoff date is when the last payment lands, assuming you never miss and never overpay. Add an extra amount and watch it move forward.
The amortization schedule is the receipt. Each row shows how one payment split between interest and principal, and what you still owed afterwards.
Borrowing this to pay off credit cards? The debt consolidation calculator compares the total cost of your current balances against this loan, with the origination fee counted in.
